What would I do without him?

DS Sean has always been very active, right from birth. As a young child he has always had to be doing something, and always a chatterbox. He is 19 now and has grown up to be the most wonderful young man. He still continues to be very active, but in the most inspiring way. When he gets bored around the home he goes on a spring cleaning frenzy. Between my work committments, designing and looking after Nuts4Digi I don’t have a lot of time to keep up with everything around the house. Don’t get me wrong. My house isn’t a wreck, but it is a very lived in home. This is where Sean’s cleaning frenzys come in handy. For example, I will keep clean up my kitchen but Sean will come in behind me and actually clear everything off the benchtops and put it all away to the point where my kitchen would look good in a glossy magazine.

He also loves to rearrange furniture. I can’t count the number of times that I have come home from work and everything in his bedroom is in the hallway and Sean is busy in his room cleaning everything, rearranging his wardrobe, vacuuming, even cleaning the window ledges. Now cleaning window ledges is something I haven’t done in a while. He will then put everything back into his bedroom & everything has it’s own place.

Yesterday I came home from work and Sean had rearranged my lounge room furniture. I was so pleased with the result. And he had rearranged it in a fashion that I had never even thought of. He has made the most inviting ‘nook’ by placing one of the lounge chairs near a front window with the bookshelf beside it. He has even retreived all of my scrapbooking magazines (that were in a huge pile beside my bedside table) and arranged them in the bookshelf. I can see myself nestled up in the chair on a sunny day reading a book, or even working away on my laptop.

It is going to be a very sad day when Sean finally leaves the nest and sets up a home of his own. The woman that snags Sean is going to be one very, very lucky lady.

What will I do without him?

A heck of a day!

We are currently undergoing renovations at work. It is an exciting time because I will at last have my own workspace where all of my ’stuff’ will actually be mine. Office walls have been being pulled down since last Wednesday. I have suffered very little inconvenience as my workspace had been untouched. Up until now that is. Over the past 4 days since I was in last the electrician has been in trying to re-route electric cables and the computer cabling. So when I went in to work today I have no computer and no phone. In total we have 2 working computers and 2 phones between 4 of us. So it has largely been a day of playing musical computers. And every time the phone rang it was a case of trying to find one of the phones underneath the rubble. Trying to customers over the phone was largely impossible as there was this constant sound of an electric saw buzzing about 3 feet away from where I was trying to work. I suppose I shouldn’t complain as the carpenter was working on my new workspace.

I took a few photos of the beginnings of the renovations last week and will try to take a few more as the renovation progresses. So once I dowload them onto my computer I will post an update.

So, all in all, I have had a heck of a day!

HOT! HOT! HOT!

We have had the most unbearable temperatures for the past 3 days. Temperatures over 43C ( 109F). It has been totally disgusting. Our poor air conditioner has been really struggling to keep up. We have a split system one installed in the lounge room but the cool air hasn’t been able to get to the back of the house and temperatures down there have been over 36C (97F). It is only supposed to be about 37C today but still very HOT!.

Sleeping has been almost impossible and there are a few grumpy people in our household. And to top it all off I was woken up suddenly last night with a loud crashing noise. I got up to investigate. I thought it might have been DS Sean tripping over the pedestal fan in his room as he was going to the toilet But no, he was sound asleep. I couldn’t find an apparent reason for the noise so I went back to bed. It wasn’t until I got up this morning and went to the wardrobe to get a pair of shoes out that I found out what had caused the noise. The clothes rail had given way and now rail and clothes are lying in the bottom of the wardrobe. I think it’s time for a clean out, don’t you. LOL!
